Sad - little river

Říčka Smutná rises near the village of Chyšky in the western part of Čertova hrbatina and flows into the Lužnice river in Bechyn as its right-hand tributary. It flows mainly in a north-south direction. It is 44 km long.
In the vicinity of Smutná, there are frequent remains of mounds testifying to the fact that this area was already inhabited in ancient times. The river probably got its name from the cemeteries along its course.
