Natural monument Smutný

Smutný is a natural monument northeast of the village of Sepekov around the river of the same name located under the slopes of the Chlum hill in the district of Písek. It is protected due to the meandering flow of the river Smutná with its riparian vegetation. Compared to other localities, the river here still meanders arbitrarily and is only minimally corrected by human intervention.
