The dominant feature of the town of Nymburk is the brick Gothic church of St. Jiljí built between 1280 and 1380 on Kostelní náměstí. The church was originally dedicated to St. Nicholas - the patron saint of colonists and merchants. In 1370, the chapel of St. Dorothy, sacristy today.
