The village of Chotoviny is located 7 km north of the district town of Tábor at an altitude of 555 m.
Not much information has been preserved about the history of the village. The foundation of today's village was originally laid by a lordly settlement, to which a fortress was later added. At the beginning of the 15th century, the village belonged to the lords of Nechvalice. The last owners were the Rožmberks.
