The ruins of Borotín Castle
Borotín Castle The village of Borotín originally belonged to the lords of Landštejn, one of the branches of the most powerful South Bohemian family of Vítkovci. In 1356 Mikuláš from Borotín is mentioned here. The probable founder of the castle was Vítek. His descendants Jan and Heřman became followers of Hus' teachings. Heřman was elected to the corps of provincial administrators at the Prague Diet in 1423. His successor Mikuláš was from 1426 one of the governors of Tábor…
