The village of Štiptoň is an old Slavic settlement, currently part of the town of Nové Hrady. From 1359, the village was owned by the Rožmberks. After the death of the last Rožmberk, Petr Vok, it passed to his brother-in-law Švamberk. In 1620, he acquired Štiptoň together with the Novohradsk manor of Buquoy. Before the Second World War, the village had about 250 inhabitants, of which only 10 were Czechs. At that time there was a school, a mill and a stone quarry in the village.…
