The monument is located in a picturesque valley about 300 m above the grove of Liška Bystrouška in Bílovice nad Svitavou. Bohuslav Polanský was born in 1901 in Žďárec near Tišnov. He graduated from secondary school in Brno and after that he joined the newly established forestry faculty here.
