The ruins of Ostrý Castle, also called Šarfenštejn, stand on a basalt promontory surrounded by the Ploučnicí River near Benešov nad Ploučnicí in Děčínsk in the Ústí Region. A part of the castle walls and the remains of a tall round tower have been preserved to this day. The castle ruins are freely accessible.
History
The castle was built by Markvartici around the middle of the 13th century. They then took turns among other owners...
