Marian sculptures on the square in Doksy

The dominant feature of the town of Doksy is the newly reconstructed Náměstí Republiky, where there is a baroque Marian sculpture from the 17th century. Its author is the Italian architect Bernard Canevalle, i.e. the same person who signed the design of the nearby church of St. Bartholomew.
The central motif of this sculpture is the statue of the Virgin Mary, the restored original of which has been in the mentioned church since 1998.…
