The oldest preserved house in Doksy is the so-called Hospítálek, originally a workhouse and orphanage. The hospital, which today stands on the corner of Komenského, Valdštejnská and Máchovy streets, was built in 1669 by Countess Marie František, the second wife of Kryštof Ferdinand of Heissenstein.
It is a beautiful wooden house with a shingle roof, which currently houses the Museum of Karel Hynek Mácha, which here…
