The monument is a branch of the National History Museum and Gallery in Česká Lípa. In the building of the so-called Hospital, originally a workhouse and orphanage, today there is a museum of Karel Hynk Mácha, an important romantic poet who visited Doksy and its surroundings several times and liked the area very much.
