Krkonoše Mountains - Hanče and Vrbaty Mounds

The mound of Hanč and Vrbata. A small stone mound on the road between Vrbatova bouda and Pančava waterfall reminds us of the sports tragedy of 1913, when the leading Czech skier Bohumil Hanč and his friend Václav Vrbata died in a snowstorm during an international competition. The film Sons of the Mountains was made about this sad event.
