The Rudoarmějc monument, a larger-than-life bronze statue of a soldier in a Red Army uniform, was unveiled on April 25, 1955, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the liberation of Brno in what was then Náměstí Rudé armády. Since 1958, it has been classified as a protected immovable cultural monument. The official name of the monument was then - Victory of the Red Army over fascism.
