Žarský pond

Žárský rybník is located on the southeastern edge of Žár. This is the largest pond in the foothills of the Novohradské Hory and at the same time one of the oldest ponds in the Czech Republic. The pond has an area of ​​95,1 ha and grassy banks. An eight-hectare island with exotic fauna and flora is artificially created on the water surface, there was also a summer house, an arboretum and a garden, now only a newly built large poultry house.
