Zársky Pond (Sohorsteich)

Near the village of Žár (Sohors), by the road to Nové Hrady, there is a pond that is one of the oldest in Bohemia. It is mentioned in historical sources as early as 1221. In 1539, the originally smaller pond was rebuilt and filled again. In the 16th century, Jakub Krčín from Jelčany connected the Žárský pond with the so-called Žárská sewer to other ponds in the area.
