Velké Meziříčí - Lower gate and fortifications

The city fortifications were probably built around 1387. In its heyday, the city had three gates and three forts. In addition, there was another forward gate. The Upper Gate was located at the intersection of Radlické and Třbíčská Streets, the Vrchovecká Gate stood north of the center, and the Malostranská Gate was advanced in front of the fortifications at the location of today's Třebíčská Street.
