Veliš, once an important castle in eastern Bohemia.

During our stay in the Bohemian Paradise, we had the Veliš hill almost always in front of our eyes. At its peak are the remains of a castle that was one of the most important in Eastern Bohemia. Although the first written mention is from 1316, when King John of Luxembourg gave the castle to Půt of Frýdlant, it can be assumed that the castle was already there before that year. From some sources it can be read that it was built by King Wenceslaus...
