We are heading to the dominant hill of Jičín, the Veliš hill, which is located approximately 3,5 km southwest of Jičín. We go for the views and to learn about the history of Veliš Castle. The castle was founded around 1300, in 1337 it was bought from Jan of Luxembourg by Vartenberky. At the time when the castle belonged to the Trčk family, the compact was kept here for 100 years.
