Strážný is an important border crossing into Bavaria about 20 km south of the town of Vimperka at the state border of the Czech Republic with Germany in the district of Prachatice. It lies in a valley below the hill of the same name (1.115 m) with the ruins of Kunžvart Castle between two tributaries of the Vltava River at an altitude of 820 m, almost on the border of the Šumava National Park.
