Šumava - mountain range
Šumava refers to the extensive mountain range that stretches along the southern border of the Czech Republic in the area between the Vyšebrodsky and Všerubsky passes. It starts near Vyšší Brod and ends about 20 km west of Klatov near the village of Všeruby. It is the source area of the most famous Czech river, the Vltava, and its important left-hand tributary, the Otava, also originates here.
