Promised Land Tunnel

The Promised Land mine can be found near the Mědník hill, where it was probably mined as early as the 10th century. However, the surviving records date back to the 15th century. Mainly silver-bearing copper ores were mined here, in up to 27 tunnels.
In this tunnel, perhaps the only known remains of crushing were discovered so far - thanks to the medieval mining method of "planting with fire". Hence, apparently, the reason why these mountains use the adjective…
