It could be said that at the beginning it was a bit of aimless wandering in the NE part of the Benešovská upland. It is part of the Central Bohemian Upland, which is one of the largest units in the entire country. Its area is 2410 km2 and the highest peak is Mount Stráž (638 m above sea level).
