The Jewish community in Divišov was first mentioned in 1685. At that time there were only two families. By the end of the 18th century, ten families already lived here, and in 1888 there were already 133 people. There was a prayer hall in Divišov at the beginning of the 19th century, but apparently it was not enough, so it was decided to build a synagogue. It was built between 1854 and 1856 in the late classicist style. It served its purpose until the 20s...
