The Gmünd sand pit is located on the Austrian side of the border, about 2,5 km east of Nová Ves nad Lužnicí. The sandpit is equipped with an outdoor shower and refreshments. Entrance and parking are free. The sandpit lake is surrounded by forest, a sandy beach with refreshments is located on the southwestern edge.
