Havlíčkův Brod (before 1945 Německý Brod) is a town located in the district of the same name, in the Vysočina region. It is an ancient city whose history dates back to the beginning of the 13th century. It has been occupying its place for 700 years on the river Sázava in an area endowed with many natural beauties of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
