Havlíčkobrod Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
Its massive silhouette can already be seen from a distance beyond the northeastern open corner of the main town square. The predecessor of today's church was an early Gothic building, expanded in the fourteenth century to a two-nave. At that time it was in the possession of the Teutonic Knights, whose possession ended in 1442 - the inauspicious year when the town, its inhabitants and the church were liquidated by the Hussites.
