House and memorial of Jaroslav Hašek

Lipnice nad Sázavou is inextricably linked with the name of the writer Jaroslav Hašek, author of the work The Fate of the Good Soldier Švejk. Hašek bought a house under the castle in Lipnica and wrote the majority of his most famous work in it and in the nearby inn U Česká koruny. 
His stay in Lipnice lasted until January 3, 1923, when he died in his house at the age of only 40. He is buried in the local old cemetery.…
