One of our goals during the trip to Eastern Bohemia was the town and castle of Lipnice nad Sázavou. It is located on the border of Bohemia and Moravia in the Hornosázavská hills, west of Havlíčkov Brod. Its altitude of 590 meters significantly exceeds the surrounding area and the castle is visible from afar. It was built around 1310 and the first known owner was Raimund Bítovský from Lichtenburg.
