Beroun - Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary

The royal city of Beroun was founded in 1295 by King Wenceslas II. on the site of the old settlement at the ford over Berounka (then Mže). The parish church of St. Jacob the Greater. The second church in the city - the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary - was built in 1525 near the plague cemetery about 500 meters southwest of the city center behind the walls. Because it was built behind the gate, it was called "Zábranský".
