Velehrad Basilica - monastery, lapidary, catacombs

The Velehrad Monastery was founded by Moravian Margrave Vladislav Jindřich with his brother Přemysl Otakar I and Bishop Robert of Olomouc. The construction of the church was probably started in the years 1210-1215. The ninety-nine meter long building was laid out on the floor plan of a Latin cross.
