As the name of the village suggests, it is located near the ruins of Kumburk Castle. The first written mention of the village is from 1533, when Albrecht from Valdštejn, lord of Bradlec, inherited the village of Žďár with three homesteads. In 1539, Albrecht's estates came into the possession of Mikoláš Trčka zLípa. Today in the village we find a statue of St. Virgin Mary with child, a crucifixion monument and several preserved wooden cottages. A red road passes through the village...
