The remains of the city fortifications in Svitavy

Like some churches in Svitavy, the city fortifications were also part of the city's defense. Today, however, visitors to Svitav can only see the preserved part of the walls with the bastion, which is a protected cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Walls were built in the city after 1389 on the order of Olomouc bishop Mikuláš. The preserved bastion from the 14th - 15th centuries serves as a shop, only a small part of the city's fortifications remains...
