Koloděje nad Lužnicí Castle opens its doors

The baroque castle of Koloděje nad Lužnicí was originally a Renaissance fortress built in 1565 by Adam Čabelický from Soutice. Part of the fortress was a mill on the lower ground floor, in close proximity to which the Lužnice river flowed, which is why this part of the castle stands on oak piles.
In 1704, the fortress passed into the ownership of Count František Wratislav of Mitrowicz, and the estate remained connected to his family for centuries. Fortress…
