Kořensko Reservoir

Kořensko Reservoir is located near the village of the same name, a few hundred meters beyond the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice in the cadastral territory of Týn nad Vltavou. Its task is to protect against excessive warming of the river water from the Temelín power plant, to further maintain a constant level and thus to eliminate deficiencies in the fluctuation of the level of the Orlická Reservoir. It is not a classic dam, but a movable weir with four bays with a navigation chamber. Cove Kořensko dam near the settlement Nový Dvůr is used as a natural swimming pool. There is also a campsite. The Kořensko dam area is also suitable for tourists. The place is also great for sport fishing with the possibility of trophy catches such as catfish, zander, carp, pike, walleye and grass carp.
