The ruins of the Vildštejn castle can be found northwest of the town of Budišov nad Budišovka. The remains of the castle are on a rocky hill above the valley formed by the Lobník river. The top of Kopřivná hill (641 masl) rises above the ruins to the southeast. From the original castle, the remains of the walls in the front part of the castle, parts of the foundation walls, part of the former tower, ramparts and a large moat have survived to this day.
