Velvary - Plague Marian Obelisk

From the years 1716 - 1719, it represents a dominant sculptural work of the Baroque. The author František Tollinger first presented the councilors with a model, the plinth part of which is still kept in the Velvar museum. The iconography of the column is based on Baroque piety, when the faithful asked God and the Mother of Heaven for protection from calamities and diseases, in this case they also had in mind the plague that struck Velvary in 1713.
