Velvar Gate
While walking through the town of Slaný, you will certainly visit Masaryk Square. A few meters from the square is the Velvar Gate. It is the only surviving gate from the original medieval fortifications of the city. It was built in 1460 and was protected by a drawbridge with a front gate, which disappeared at the beginning of the 19th century. The gate is 38 meters high and the city coat of arms is carved on it.
