Vapenko Kovářská

Not far behind the Kovářská railway station are the well-preserved remains of a limestone factory that was built in the 19s. Limestone from a nearby quarry was burnt here and the lime produced was used for construction purposes and for local metallurgical operations. It is an extraordinary technical monument and the oldest limestone of its kind. Vápenka ceased its operation in the twenties of the last century.
