Valtice - Marian column

On the main Valtice square in front of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, there is a tall, white, early baroque Marian Plague Column.
It was built by Prince Karel Eusebius of Lichtenstein in response to the second plague that hit the city in the 17th century.
The monument was created between 1680 and 1690 and its author is the Viennese sculptor Mathias Gunst.
