Valtice - fountain on the square
Until 1901, the city's drinking water needs were provided by two city fountains. One stood behind the church, the other here in the square in front of the castle. The fountain at this place has stood since time immemorial and gave 180 hl of drinking water daily. Originally, the fountain only had a central column with baroque mascarones and was later fitted with a statue.
