The foundation stone of the new church in Uherské Brod was laid on July 12.7.1717, 1733. The architect was the Italian architect of Lucca, Domenico Martinelli, the construction was financed by the Kounics, the owners of the city at the time, construction was started under Dominik Ondřej, the church was consecrated under his son Maxmilián Oldřich in 1878.
