Divoká Desná springs in the so-called spring bowl at the top of Vysoká hola and creates the longest mountain valley in Hrubé Jeseník. It therefore diverts water from Pradědská hornatina, the highest part of Hrubé Jeseník. Under the excavated hill of Zámčisko (the stone from it was used in the construction of the PVE and a small rockery remained) it meets the streams from Medvědí žleb below Velké Máj and from Velké Děd glebe.
