Svitava Church of St. Giles
Together with the adjacent and quite extensive cemetery, it is the oldest urban building monument. Its original form was Romanesque - it was built here in 1167 from marl and wood by the Premonstratensians from Litomyšl. The temple, in the spirit of the legend of St. Jilji, provided not only spiritual comfort, but also asylum to all merchants and pilgrims before entering the then dangerous border forest.
