Slepičí vršek nature reserve (1,8 ha) is located about 1 km north of the village of Lužnice and about 6 km north of Třeboň.
This is a sand overburden (dune) that was created during the course of the Lužnice River on sand washed by the river due to the action of the wind. It is together with the Písečný presype near Vlkov the only example of soft sands in South Bohemia.
