The almost unknown dam stretches between Litvínov and Horní Jiřetín. It was built at the end of the 17s as flood protection for lignite mines. The dam is 810 m high, 4 m long, 5-78 m wide at the crown and up to 1 m at the bottom, the volume of the reservoir is 180 m000. At the end of the dam is a concrete spillway. There are pools in the reservoir area. Under normal conditions, the Loupnice stream flows freely...
