Between the villages of Nový Hrádek in the north and Bohdašín in the south, we find the pilgrimage site Rokole. It is 6 km east of Nové Město nad Metují. It lies in the valley of the Olešenka river and is surrounded by forest and meadows.
Rokole is said to be an old form of the word ravine. A little girl got lost in this ravine and turned to the Virgin Mary for help. The Virgin Mary appeared to the girl and led her out of the forest by the hand. Furthermore, it is said here…
