Pivonice is a small village in the beautiful surroundings of the Žďárské vrchy. They are part of the town of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, but they are relatively far from Bystřice and, moreover, separated by the river Bystřice. The first mention of the village as such comes from the 14th century, but it is probably an older residence, given the fact that it lies at the crossroads between Zubštejn and Aueršperk castles.
