Liberation Monument in Železná Ruda

The monument to the liberation of Železná Ruda by the American army led by General Patton can be seen at the entrance to the local motorcycle museum, in front of the building of the former castle.
The liberation of Železná Ruda took place on May 1, 1945 without much bloodshed, as the local SS units withdrew from the town practically without a fight.
