Monument to Josef Ressel
Josef Ressel was born in 1793 in Chrudim. After his studies, he lived and worked in Slovenia and northern Italy, mainly in Trieste. He died of malaria in 1857 and was buried in the cemetery in Navje near Ljubljana, Slovenia. Although he was a forester by profession, Ressel was famous for numerous inventions, practical projects and also as a writer.
