Island of Ohri
He originally founded a Slavic settlement together with the Slávek z Osek monastery in the marshy plain above the Bystřicí stream around 1200. The current Czech name Ostrov comes from the German name Schackenwerth, which first appears in 1562. The market settlement on the trade route from Chob belonged in 1337 to the royal cities.
